Avoid “Vitas Evapouritis” and keep wine racks stocked!

“Vitas Evapouritis”- The slow but steady loss of wine due to general consumption and generous gift giving.

If your wine cellar is anything like mine, it is time for a replenish after a sensational summer of entertaining, socializing and vacationing.

Believe it or not, the holiday season is just around the corner and it is very important to have your wine cellars prepared.

Consider this; any wines made today will not be ready for bottling until 4-8 weeks later…at the absolute earliest!

Now here is the wine math. And this does not take into consideration aging your wine:

NOVEMBER 15th-START YOUR WINE + 6 WEEKS = BOTTLING DECEMBER 27th

NOVEMBER 20th-START YOUR WINE + 4 WEEKS = BOTTLING DECEMBER 18th

NOVEMBER 24th-START YOUR WINE + 4 WEEKS = BOTTLING DECEMBER 22nd

The formula is quite simple. The solution is rather easy too. Start your wines now and be prepared for the Holiday Season (AND AFTER), which by the way, is usually the worst culprit for creating ‘Vitas Evapouritis’.

Cheers!
