Fine Wines for Warm September Evenings

If there’s one wine worth reaching for this month, Merlot is an easy place to start.

It has a little more body than the lightest summer reds, but still feels smooth and approachable. It’s also wonderfully food-friendly, making it a natural match for grilled meats, roasted vegetables, mushrooms, or a simple charcuterie board.

For white wine drinkers, a Dry Riesling is a lovely September choice. With flavours like white peach and pineapple, plus bright, mouth-watering acidity, it still feels fresh while offering a little more character than a very light summer white.

Pinot Noir is another easy red to keep in rotation, while dry rosé absolutely still has a place at the table when the weather calls for it.

The idea this month is simple: choose wines that sit comfortably in the middle, fresh enough for a warm evening, but with just a little more depth as the season begins to shift.

Merlot and Dry Riesling are two very good places to start. 🍷
